Ruth Buchanan, 96, of Tyngsboro, MA entered into rest early Saturday, July 13, 2024 at BrightView Assisted Living Facility in Billerica after a brief illness.
She was married to the late Leo Buchanan who entered into rest on November of 2006.
Born in Berlin, Germany, she was the daughter of the late Alfred and Hanna (Juettner) Bendit. Ruth immigrated to the United States through Italy in 1939 being on the last ship of Jewish immigrants headed to the United States.
She graduated from the High School of Homemaking of Brooklyn, New York.
She thoroughly enjoyed raising her children, and loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Ruth enjoyed reading biographies, and listening to people.
She is survived by her daughters Evelyn and her husband, George Lander of East Brunswick, NJ, and Judith and her husband, David Graber of Tyngsboro, MA, her four grandchildren, Adam Lander, Allison Logie, Matthew Graber and Eric Graber, as well as her three great-grandchildren Avery Graber, Annabelle Graber, and Aaron Logie.
Ruth’s funeral will be a graveside ceremony at Beth Israel Cemetery, 1098 Woodbridge Center Drive, Woodbridge, NJ on Monday, July 15, 2024 at 11:30 am.
