Obituary

Robert “Bob” Colburn, 76, died Tuesday, August 1, 2023 at Hope Hospice in Lehigh Acres, Florida.

He was married to Barbara (Lambert) with whom he would have celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary this coming November.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of Phillip E. Colburn, Jr. and Grace (Bovill) Colburn. Bob graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1964.

He proudly served with the United States Army during the Vietnam Era.

He retired from Hewlett Packard of Houston, TX, and previously worked for Compaq, Digital, and Wang computer companies.

Bob was a member of the Ancient York Lodge for more than 50 years. He was also a member of the youth leadership organization, DeMolay of Lowell.

He enjoyed golfing and woodworking, especially working on home improvements. He also enjoyed helping family, friends and neighbors with home projects, affectionately called “Bobjects”.

Bob is survived by his daughter Jennifer Wiles and her husband Jeremy of Alexandria, VA; his brother Philip Colburn and his wife Marylyn of The Villages, FL; his brothers-in-law Philip Lambert of Belchertown, MA, Jeffrey Lambert and his wife Linda of Dracut, MA, Kenneth Lambert of Sun City, AZ, Thomas Lambert and his wife Mary of N. Hampton, NH; his grandchildren Amelia and Evan Wiles; and many nieces and nephews.

FUNERAL NOTICE

Memorial service on Tuesday, August 8 at 11AM at Christ Episcopal Church, 43 Pine Street, Exeter, NH. A private burial will be held at the convenience of the family in Westlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made in his name to Wounded Warriors Project https://www.woundedwarriorproject.org/

    Bob was a great man. Sorry we were unable to attend his services. Bob and Barbara gave many a Rock the Block party at their beautiful home in Hampton. Our thoughts and prayers are with Barbara and the whole family.
