Obituary

Rita M. (Bechard) (Brouillette) Blouin, at 99 passed at the Belvidere Healthcare Center on Friday, September 12, 2025.

She was wife of the late Henry Blouin who passed in 2003, and was previously married to the late Robert Brouillette who died in 1971.

She was born in Lowell, May 11, 1926, and was the daughter of the late Mary (Dubuque) and Alfred Bechard. Rita was a graduate of St. Joseph’s High School class of 1944.

She was a communicant of Notre Dame de Lourdes parish until it closed and was an active supporter of all the parish events; the block parties, bingo, served as a Eucharistic Minister, and anything that needed to be done.  Rita enjoyed knitting and crocheting in her early years, and later enjoyed traveling with her husband Henry.

She is survived by her daughter, Diane (Brouillette) McLeod and her husband, Robert of Lowell, two sons, Robert Brouillette and his wife, Karen of Rye NH, and David Brouillette and his wife, Patricia of Petaluma CA, and a stepson Gary Blouin of Dracut, nine grandchildren, Christine Pare, Scott Pare and his wife Christine, Katie Schwartz and her husband, Rick, Marc Brouillette and his wife, Kendall, Michael McLeod and his wife, Danielle, Kevin McLeod and his wife, Kristen, Timothy McLeod and his wife, Chelsea, Wiley Brouillette and Jesse Brouillette, thirteen great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

She was predeceased by her daughter, the late Denise (Brouillette) Pare, wife of Al Pare and her brother Alfred (Sonny) Bechard.

The family would like to thank the wonderful and caring staff of the Belvidere Healthcare Center, and the dedicated staff of Hands and Hearts Hospice.

 

FUNERAL NOTICE

 

Rita’s visiting hours will be Wed., Sept. 17, 2025 from 10 to 11 AM at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME, 122 PRINCETON BLVD., LOWELL, MA followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon at St. Margaret of Scotland Church, 374 Stevens St., Lowell, MA 01851.  Burial in St. Joseph Cemetery in Chelmsford, MA.  ARRANGEMENTS BY MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME 978-458-6841.     I would visit Rita when I visited my own grandma , they shared a wall in the nursing home and would always have a smile for me when I poked my head in to say hello
