Marvin Black, age 80, died Saturday November 2, 2024 at Mass General Hospital Boston, MA.
He was predeceased by his wife the late Theola (Curry) Black who died March 18, 2005.
Born in Lumberton, NC, he was the son of the late Henley and Rosella Black. He was a resident of Lowell for about 50 years.
He was a dedicated friend with a laid-back personality that enjoyed going on road trips in tractor trailer 18 wheelers as the passenger. When he wasn’t socializing, he spent his down time watching westerns and the animal channel with his daughter. He loved baseball, spending time with his family, and card games.
He is survived by his daughters, Darlene S. Black of Lowell and Tanya Black, and son Dominic Black of Maryland. Grandchildren Delaney Williams, Christian Black, Tatiana Black, Aniyah Waddy, and Kaeden Waddy. Great grandchildren Cameron Watts, Azariyah Black.
Marvin is also survived by five sisters, Dorothy and Donnell Chance, Pecolia Autry, Mildred Criss, Marie Rivers, Helen and Daniel Taylor, and many nieces and nephews.
He was predeceased by his six brothers, Calvin, Melvin, John Henry, Raymond, Glenn and James.
