It is with humble acceptance that we announce the promotion to glory of Lawrence Wangai Kareru on Christmas Day, December 25, 2024. He passed on at Malden Hospice after a long hospitalization in Boston.
Wangai was a long-time resident of Worcester before relocating to Lowell, MA.
He was a beloved husband to Lucy Wanjiru Wangai and the late Millicent Mumbi, a loving father to Kelvin Kamau, Kevin Wachira, Florence Wambui, and a dotting grandfather to many.
Born in Amboni Sublocation, Mweiga in Nyeri Kenya, he was a brother to Joseph, John, James, Samuel, Magdaline, Gabriel, and Cecilia all of Mweiga in Nyeri Kenya.
Wangai was a retired Kenya Air Force Officer who served various missions including a combat mission in Iraq under the US Command.
Wangai was a dear friend to many both in motherland Kenya and here in the USA.
His body will be flown to Kenya where he will be laid to rest in Mweiga, Kenya.
