Kenneth Ronald McKenzie, 79, of Lowell, MA, passed away on Tuesday. October 1, at home. He was married to Julie (Hak) McKenzie with who celebrated their 13-wedding anniversary on Feb 16, 2025. Born in Lowell, MA he was the beloved son of George McKenzie and Germaine (Deschene) McKenzie.
He graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1964. He served with the US Navy during the Vietnam War on board the USS Boxer. He owned and operated the Highland Florist of Lowell. He was a lifelong resident of Lowell.
He enjoyed spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, he is survived by 1 son Sean McKenzie of CO; 2 daughters Heather of CO ; and Kerry Cox of CO; and his stepdaughter, Stephanie Saphan of Lowell, MA, with whom he shared a home, along with her children who loved him dearly; also stepdaughter Sophon Mith and stepson Pek Mith. He has one cousin George Duncan of Lowell and many nieces and nephews and cousins. He also has 11 grandchildren.
He was the brother of the late George McKenzie.

He was my Daddy!!!! I will forever be grateful for the 12 days we shared together in July 2025. It was my great honor to get to care for him and spend precious moments and moments with him.

Kenny was a thoughtful friend who always made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed at work. He was a terrific storyteller, and his jokes were never ending. His warmth made him a true friend-one who will be deeply missed. May he rest in peace.

Though I only had the privilege of meeting Ken a few times, his accommodating nature and genuine kindness made those moments unforgettable. He welcomed us with open arms when we would come visit from Canada, always ready with a smile and a story, bridging the distance between us with his heartfelt generosity. Rest in peace Ken, and thank you for the light you shared with us all.

Ken, you were more than just a stepdad you were a loving husband, a caring father, and a source of strength and joy in all our lives. You treated us like family from the very beginning, and your kindness, patience, and generosity never went unnoticed.
We will forever cherish the memories we shared the laughter, the support, and the small everyday moments that meant so much. You always made us feel loved, cared for, and valued, and your presence brought comfort and happiness to our family.
Thank you for being there for Mom, for all of us, and for showing what it means to love and protect your family and for the beautiful example of a man with a big heart. We are so grateful to have had you in our lives, and your memory will live on in our hearts forever.

There will forever be a giant hole in my heart now that you are gone. I will see you again someday, until then, I will love you from here on earth. I am very sorry to hear Kenny passed away, but grateful to have known for many years when we worked together at Enterprise Bank. Kenny was kind and generous and made people feel special. He had a great sense of humor, and a tremendous work ethic. He loved his family and had many friends. Many of us will always have fond memories of Ken. May he rest in peace.

I am so sad to learn of Kenny’s passing. I first met him when he did the flowers for my wedding 50 years ago. We met again when he worked at Enterprise and when he delivered flowers for Flowers by Albert. His memory amazed me! I have missed our chats in the parking lot; he was a wonderful man. My sincerest sympathy to his family and friends.
