Kathleen Evelyn Emerson, 76, a lifelong resident of Lowell, MA, died peacefully Friday, March 15, 2024 surrounded by her loving family at Lowell General Hospital.

Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Irving and Phyllis (Gray) Emerson.

She graduated from Lowell High School with the class of 1966.  Kathleen also furthered her education at college.

Kathleen was a communicant of St. Margaret of Scotland Parish of Lowell.

She enjoyed spending time with her family, and the light of her life, Ema, her granddaughter, whom she lived with and raised until her passing.

Besides her 8 grandchildren, Kathleen is survived by her son, Daniel Souza of Manchester, NH, 3 daughters, Karen and her husband Michael Mercuri, Erika Souza, and Kerrianne Souza all of Lowell, MA; 2 brothers, Sonny and his wife, Sheila Emerson of Lowell, MA, and Robert and his wife, Eileen Emerson of Chelmsford, MA as well as many nieces and nephews.

She was the loving sister of the late Deborah Wheeler.
