Helen (Theokas) MacArthur, 89, passed peacefully into the presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Friday, September 5, 2025 with her two daughters by her side at Lowell General Hospital – Saints Campus. Born in Lowell, MA on September 21, 1935, she was the youngest daughter of the ten children of the late Andrew and Athena (Malapanis) Theokas.
Helen’s life was a testament to her faith in Jesus Christ and her loving dedication to family and friends. She was a leader in the churches in which she served, including Grace Chapel of Lexington, MA and Grace Community Church of Chelmsford, MA. Most recently, she attended Crossway Christian Church in Nashua, NH.
While Christian ministry was a major focus of Helen’s life, her passion was her family. Supported by a loving family, her strength of character and determination were instrumental in her raising three children as a single mother. In her later years, her greatest joy came in spending as much time as possible caring for and playing with her many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
A 1953 graduate of Lowell High School, she worked for many years as a property manager for the Gil Campbell Real Estate Development Company in Lowell and later, until her retirement, she worked for Mitre Corporation of Bedford, MA.
She is survived by son Stephen MacArthur of West Palm Beach, FL, daughter Susan and husband Bruce Webster of Columbia, MD, daughter Sharon and husband Bruce Stacy of Pepperell, MA, brother Charlie Theokas of Monroe, NJ, sister-in-law Angelike (Liackos) Theokas of Lowell, MA, eleven grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, as well as many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late John Theokas, Dan Theokas, William Theokas, Peter Theokas, Stella Theokas, Georgia Drake, Aphrodite Nikitas and Sophie Regopoulous and great-grandmother to Stella Hope Gordon.
