Loving Wife, Sister, Aunt
Hazel June Gay, 92, of Lowell, MA, died Friday March 31, 2023 at D’Youville Senior Care, Lowell Ma after a brief illness.
She was the wife of the late Alfred Gay.
Born in Lawrence, MA, she was the daughter of the late Thomas and Helen (Roger) Gouldsbrough.
Hazel graduated from Methuen High School, with the class of 1948 and attended Essex Agricultural School in Danvers, MA.
She retired from Charles River Breeding Laboratories of Wilmington, MA and previously worked at Raytheon.
In retirement Hazel found joy in volunteering at Lowell General Hospital in the nursery.
She was an active member of Chelmsford Bible Church.
Hazel was a member several masonic organizations. She was a Past Grand Royal Matrol of the Order of the Amaranth (state President) and also was a loyal and active member of the Order of the Eastern Star (OES), Daughter of the Nile (DON), and the Ladies of the Oriental Shrine (LOS). She enjoyed many years of friendship, travel and service to the community with members from not only Massachusetts but all over the world.
She was the wife of the late Emanuel Wronski, sister of the late Thomas Gouldsbrough, Russel Gouldsbrough, Roger Gouldsbrough and Gertrude Thompson.
Hazel is survived by her sister-in-law and brother-in-law Anthony and Lucy Petullo of Lowell as well as many nieces and nephews.
Hazel had a passion for helping all, including our four-legged friends. She was an avid animal lover and owned many pets throughout her life. Hazel was loved by all and will be greatly missed.
Family and friends will be received at Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Blvd, 01851 on Thursday April 6, 2023 from 4:00-6:00PM. Funeral service will be at Morse-Bayliss on Friday April 7, 2023 at 10:00AM. Burial in Westlawn Cemetery, Lowell, MA. Memorials may be made in her name to the Lowell Humane Society or the charity of one’s choice.
