Born in Kalambaka, Greece on February 20, 1937, she was a daughter of the late Nikolaos & Dimitra (Triantafillou) Krosaris.  Her education was cut short when Greece was first invaded by the Italian army and, after defeating the initial attack in 1940, was later invaded by the German army in April of 1941.  Her father Nikolaos passed away at a young age, leaving behind her pregnant mother Dimitra, four other siblings, three sisters and a brother, who together struggled to survive the occupation of Nazi Germany until 1945.

As a young girl in Greece, Georgia was selected to attend the Queen’s trade school in Crete where she acquired the skills of a seamstress.  She came to the United States in 1962 and in her younger years was employed by Lock Dress in Lowell as a seamstress.  She later became a U.S. Citizen.  Georgia was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church in Lowell.

Georgia’s home & heart were always open and she welcomed everyone with a warm embrace.  She enjoyed traveling, trips to the casino, walking, sewing & cooking for her family and the entire Highlands neighborhood.  A proud lady, she was kind, wise and had a great sense of humor and made friends easily.  Georgia loved spending time with her family especially her grandchildren & great grandchildren.

Georgia is survived by her two sons, Arthur and Nicholas Vangos, both of Lowell, a daughter-in-law, Kristina Vangos of Lowell, a God-son, Anastasios “Nicholas” Tziolis of Chelmsford, a sister, Athanasia Xaxamis of Trikalla, Greece, 5 grandchildren Stephani, Demitria, Jessica and Costas Vangos and Tawny Gaudette, 3 great grandchildren, Brycen Gamble, Azzianna Ellsey, and Braxtynn Poole as well as several nieces and nephews.
