Dorothy “Dolly” Allaby, 76, of Lowell, MA passed away on Thursday, April 25, 2024 at Sunny Acres Nursing Home.
Born in Marlborough, MA, she was the daughter of the late Clayton and Shirley (Campbell) Lucia. Dolly was married to Bruce Allaby with whom she would have celebrated their 37th wedding anniversary on June 20th.
Dolly was raised in Bolton, MA and later settled in Lowell with her family. She worked as a dietary aide at Willow Manor Nursing Home for over fifteen years until her retirement in 2000. Some of the things that Dolly enjoyed most were apple picking, shopping, and spending time at Hampton Beach.
Besides her husband, she is survived by her son Mark Williams of Nashua, NH, her three daughters and their spouses; Debra and Kevin Dailey of Billerica, MA, Rebecca and Richard Gawley of Lowell, MA, Rachel Van Dinter of Lowell, MA, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. She was the sister of the late Mark Lucia and Sharon Lucia.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Visitation for Dorothy Allaby will be held on Saturday, May 4, 2024 from 9:00am – 10:00am immediately followed by a memorial service at 10:00am. All services will be held at Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, MA 01851. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in her name to the American Lung Association; https://www.lung.org/

I’m gonna miss you, mom more than you’ll ever know. But I know you’re watching over all of us always be in my thoughts and in my heart you are the best mom that anyone could ever have. Your smile lit up the room, made everybody so happy when you sing your voice always brought me back to my childhood with you. I love you to the moon and back and one day. I will see you again.
