Diane Marilyn Lewis, 69, of Tyngsboro, MA died Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at Lowell General Hospital.
She was married to David I. Lewis with whom she recently celebrated their 45th wedding anniversary in April.
Born in Suffern, NY, she was the daughter of the late Karl Terrace and Caroline (Greenbaum) Terrace.
Diane graduated from Rockland High School, Rockland, NY, with the class of 1972. She is a graduate of Rivier College with a BA in History and a graduate of Harvard University with a Master’s in History.
She retired from UMass Lowell as a professor of History.
Diane’s interests included genealogy and world history.
Besides her husband, Diane is survived by her three sons Jason Lewis and his wife Jennifer of Townsend, MA, Adam Lewis of Tyngsboro, MA, Daniel Lewis of Dracut, MA; her four grandchildren Kyle Lewis, Caden Lewis, Evan Lewis, and Hayden Lewis; her brother Robert Terrace and his wife Sandra of Westford, MA; her sister-in-law Elizabeth and her husband Mark Samuels; and several nieces and nephews.
