David Richard Mahoney, 73, of Medford, MA, passed away Wednesday, December 20, 2023 at Care Dimensions Hospice House in Lincoln.
Born in Boston, MA, he was the son of the late Paul S. Mahoney and Margaret H. O’Donnell, and foster son of B. Audrey Leary.
He graduated from Medford High School, in Medford, with the class of 1968.
He was employed as a Yellow Cab taxi driver in Lowell and Boston. Prior to that he worked as a manager of West Coast Video and worked in quality inspection at Kronos and US Wind Power.
David was a foodie who loved to try new restaurants. He also loved WWE wrestling, video games, taking drives. He was a big reader. Most of all, he made everyone smile and laugh, and was outspoken and not afraid to stand up for others.
David is survived by his daughters Lisa (Mahoney) Majernik and her partner Justin Hannus of Lowell and Heather Mahoney and her partner Gil Feeney of Lowell; his brothers Michael Mahoney and Steven Mahoney of Hanover MA; his four grandchildren Elizabeth Kinney, Timothy Kinney, Kathleen Casey, and John Majernik, his cousin David Leary. He is also survived by his ex-wife and friend Marie Corcoran, and the Bates family of Chelmsford, MA. He leaves behind his beloved pet and friend, Coc
