Loving Wife and Mother
Caroline M. (Clark) Gainan of Sandown, NH, died Sunday, November 11, 2012 after a brief illness, aged 68 years. She was the beloved wife of Thomas G. Gainan, with whom she celebrated 31 years of marriage last May.
Caroline was born in Lowell, April 1, 1944, the daughter of the late Andrew P. and Mary (Kucinskas) Clark. She received her early education at St. Margaret School and was a graduate of Keith Hall, Lowell, with the Class of 1961. Caroline received her Associates Degree in Business from Chandler College for Women in Boston. She furthered her education at Strayer College, and then attended Catholic University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Education. Mrs. Gainan also earned her C.P.S. (Certified Professional Secretary).
Caroline had an interesting and fulfilling career. She served at the U.S. Embassy in Holland, worked for many years as a Legislative Aide for Senator Edward Brooke, and later worked at the Voice of America in Washington D.C.
Mrs. Gainan was an active member of St. Michael Parish in Sandown. She was a talented seamstress and quilter, making many beautiful pieces for her friends and relatives over the years. Caroline was a kind, generous person who will always be remembered for her love of family and friends.
Besides her husband Tom, she is survived by a son, Mark A. Gainan of Portland, Oregon, a daughter, Marylyn A. Gainan and her husband Jason Wamback of Leominster, a brother, Andrew S. Clark of Lowell, and her trusty cat, Lightning.

Mrs. Gainan’s Funeral Mass to be held on Thursday at 9:30 AM at St. Margaret Church, Lowell (PLEASE MEET AT CHURCH). Interment in St. Mary Cemetery, Tewksbury.
