Obituary

Barbara Colburn, 73, of Fort Myers, FL, died Sunday, January 7, 2024 at Inova Alexandria Hospital in Virginia.

She was married to the late Robert Colburn.

Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Donald and Miriam Lambert.

Barbara graduated from Lowell High School, Lowell, with the class of 1968. She is a graduate of Framingham State College and earned a Master’s Degree at Notre Dame College (NH).

She was a dedicated educator, teaching Family and Consumer Science and Social Sciences classes in Southern New Hampshire. Barbara was a talented quilter and crafter, and a voracious reader from a young age. But perhaps she was best known for her quick-witted sense of humor.

She was a member of Christ Church in Exeter and Church of the Good Shepard in Nashua.

Barbara is survived by her daughter Jennifer Wiles, son-in-law Jeremy, and grandchildren Amelia and Evan of Alexandria, VA; her brothers Philip Lambert of Belchertown, MA, Jeffrey Lambert and his wife Linda of Dracut, MA, Kenneth Lambert of Sun City, AZ, and Thomas Lambert and his wife Mary of North Hampton, NH; brother-in-law Philip Colburn and his wife Marylyn of The Villages, FL; and several nieces and nephews.

    Dear Jen and family
Our hearts go out to you, I can’t imagine your pain.
So soon after losing your dad.
I never got to meet you in Florida.
We were across the street from mom & dad.
Know that there’s a hole in our hearts in Florida with their absence.
They were two of the finest.
    Vinnie & Claudia
