Amos Ngugi Ngure, 66, of North Chelmsford, peacefully passed away with his loving family at his side on October 25th, 2024, at High Point Hospice House.
He was married to Priscilah Mwihaki Ngugi with whom he celebrated their 41st wedding anniversary on June 19,1983.
Born in Kiambu, Kenya he was the beloved son of Morris Ngure Wamethi and Sarah Waithira (Muthie).
He was employed in Kenya as an accountant/Conveyancing Clerk in various companies and law firms and after moving to the United States on October 12, 2016 he worked in healthcare.
He was a communicant at ACK St Stephen’s Church in Dracut, MA, where he has served diligently as an ordained KAMA member. Previously in Kenya he was also a dedicated KAMA member of the ACK Emmanuel church where he championed many developments in the church and served as the chairman of Ithanga A zone helping in various successful fundraisers. He was also heavily involved in community projects and was a member of the Thiiru Development Group, which helped on the electrification of the Kibiku, Ithanga area, Thiiru Family Self Help, Kibiku Primary Allumni, Kirangari High School Alumni, Nyaka Age Group, Gucheka Six investment Group among others.
He enjoyed hiking, community social work, meeting and making new friendships, cultural heritage activities, but his purest joy came from just spending time with his family especially his grandchildren.
Besides his wife Priscilah, he is survived by his sons Morris Ngugi of Toronto, Canada, Simon Ngugi of Kenya, his daughters Sarah Ngugi of Chelmsford, Monica Ngugi of Chelmsford, his sisters Esther Ngure of Kenya, Grace Ngure of Kenya and his grandchildren who are: Bryson, Amani, Hope, Joy, Ruby, Ryan, George, Lionel and Brylene.
He was the brother of the late David Ngure, Johnson Ngure and Njoroge Ngure.
MEMORIAL AND FUNERAL NOTICE
Amos Ngugi Ngure, North Chelmsford, died on October 25, 2024. The Memorial Service will be held on November 3, 2024, 3 PM at ACK St. Stephen’s Church, 1495 Mammoth Rd, Dracut, MA.
Funeral arrangements are ongoing concurrently in the US and Kenya and the burial date will be announced afterwards. His body lies at the MORSE-BAYLISS FUNERAL HOME 122 PRINCETON BLVD., LOWELL, MA 978-458-6841.
