Obituary

Aline R. Morris, age 86, of Chelmsford, passed away on March 18, 2026, at Lowell General Hospital.

She was born in Lowell and was the daughter of the late Eugene J. Fournier and Jeanette (Dubois) Fournier. Aline was a devoted member of St. Margaret Church in Lowell and graduated from St. Louis Academy in Lowell at the age of 17.

Aline retired after 20 years of employment with Intech. She cherished her family and took great pride in spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.  Aline spent many years as a ballroom dancer, was an avid traveler and reader, adored cats, and had systems for everything. Her independence and work ethic was imprinted on her family members. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with loved ones or to learn about something new. She continued to be sharp and active, keeping up with her oldest friends to her youngest great grandchildren. She was deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all who knew her.”

She was very strong in her faith attending services at St Margaret of Scotland of Lowell and St John’s of Chelmsford, whenever she could and Sundays at home when she couldn’t.

Aline is survived by her two sons, Gary Morris and his wife Inna, and Scott Morris and his wife Myra; her daughter, Elizabeth Sassone and her husband Scott; her sister, Lorraine Hurrell of Carolina; as well as eight grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

    Scott, Gary and Betsy,
I’m so sorry for your loss. Your mom was a lovely lady, attentive and caring. My mom appreciated her friendship so much she referred to her as her sister. I used to be so envious of you, because I thought your mom was “cool”. Remember the prize box? She used to let you pick a prize for cleaning your room. We didn’t get prizes for doing our chores. When your mom became a grandma, I remember her talking about spending time with her granddaughter by taking her to dance class. She inspired me to provide dance classes for my granddaughters. May your memories comfort you.

Farewell my dear friend. I will miss our 82 years of friendship. Most recently our telephone visits and how much we truly always cared for one another. I hope you did not suffer and are now in the arms of the Lord. I will always love you and keep you in my prayers. My deepest sympathy to your beautiful family.
