Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Alan S. Rosen. Born on April 4, 1956, in Lowell, MA, Alan spent his life dedicated to his family, friends, and community. He was the beloved husband of Hope Mascott-Rosen of Andover, with whom he shared 38 wonderful years of marriage. Together, they lovingly raised their two children, Lindsay Rosen and Jared Rosen (married to Madi Rosen).

Alan’s gentle nature, fun-loving spirit, and great sense of humor brought joy to all who knew him. His life was one of love, laughter, and unwavering dedication to those he cared for. Known for his compassion, Alan cherished every moment spent with his loved ones. He will be missed beyond measure but remembered forever in our hearts.

Alan passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving family. During his lifetime, Alan was a respected entrepreneur, owning and operating Norman’s Men’s Shop—a renowned men’s clothing store in Lowell and Chelmsford—for several decades.

Later in his career, Alan applied his talents in the financial sector, working successfully at Metro Mortgage and Washington Savings Bank for decades until his retirement. His dedication and integrity in his work earned him the respect and trust of many clients and colleagues.

Alan was a loving husband, father, brother, uncle, and friend. His memory will be cherished by his sisters, Sandy Rosen and Debbie Budd, as well as his niece, Elyssa Budd.

He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the American Kidney Fund in Alan’s memory.

Very sorry to read of Alan’s passing. Alan was such a good man, humble with a great sense of humor. Went to school with Al through the Daley and LHS. I became a customer @ Norman’s and in later years caught up to him @ WSB where we would often chat. Condolences to his family, may he rest in peace.

Caring, compassionate, kind. Where do I begin to describe this amazing human being? Always with a smile on his face, Alan was encompassed with nothing but goodness in his heart. The great times I shared with Alan are too numerous to count. Whether you were visiting him and his welcoming family at their home or having a “few at the View”, the times spent with Alan were always full of laughs. I feel I’ve lost part of me and there is a void which will not be filled. I must rely on great memories. To his amazing family, please rest assured he is now at peace and in a better place. Rest easy my friend. I will see you again soon. I love you.

I never saw him without a smile. Al was the most gentle and compassionate person I have had the honor to call friend. I was the first female to ever be employed by Norman’ Men Shop. Going to work everyday was just plain fun. He always had my bagel & coffee waiting when I walked in. I was also privileged to share leisure time with him and the guys. What a group! Alan was always the “dad” watching out for all of us. He was the one who introduced me to my husband of 44 years, Peter. A part of me feels like it has actually been ripped away. For almost 50 years on April 4th, I’d tell Pete “ it’s Al’s birthday “. My deepest most sincere condolences goes out to your entire family. You are the lucky ones to have had him so close all these years. Sleep sweet my pal. I’ll see you on the other side. I love you.

You are all in my thoughts.
