Obituary

Peter James Naumnik, 63, of Lowell MA passed away unexpectedly at his home on October 25, 2023.

Born in Lowell, he was the son of Peter John Naumnik and the late Regina (Cooper) Naumnik.

He graduated from Tewksbury High School and attended Northeastern University. Peter was a longtime businessman and owner in the field of construction and environmental remediation.

Peter is survived by his father Peter, beloved daughter Paige, his devoted sisters, Gina Emery, Susan Sweeney and Jacqueline Cupp. Survivors also include nieces, nephews, brother-in-law and great nephew: Erika, Michael, Matthew, Alexander, Jancy, Van and Dylan. He is preceded in death by his adored niece Jennifer.

Peter was a man who had a tremendous zest for life. His unwavering love for his daughter, parents, sisters, nieces, nephews and brother-in-law, was a guiding light in his life. His close longtime friendships with both his friends and family members were his greatest source of happiness.  He cherished every moment spent with them, and his heart overflowed with joy whenever they were near. His family and friends were his anchor, and his support.

An avid New England sports fan and sportsman, Peter had a passion for competition that was only matched by his love for the games themselves. Whether he was cheering for his favorite team from the sidelines or engaging in friendly matches with friends, he found pure joy in the world of sports. His enthusiasm and knowledge made him a respected figure among fellow sports enthusiasts, and his passion for the games he loved was contagious.

Two loves that were close to Peter’s heart were his precious golden retriever and the serene beauty of Horseneck Beach in Westport, Massachusetts. His furry companion brought immeasurable comfort and happiness to his life. Horseneck Beach was his sanctuary, his happy place, where the crashing waves, soft sands, and endless horizons provided solace and peace in his heart. The memories he created there with his parents, sisters, nieces and nephews will forever linger in their hearts.

Peter was also known for his great sense of humor, and his infectious laughter. His wit and jovial spirit endeared him to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He had an extraordinary ability to turn even the most ordinary moments into memories filled with joy and laughter.

He will be deeply missed by all, but his memory will live on through the stories, love, and laughter he shared with us. In our hearts, he remains forever, a cherished beacon of love, humor, and generous spirit.

Rest in peace, dear Peter. Your spirit lives on in the love, faith, and memories you leave behind.
