Lifelong Resident of Lowell, Massachusetts
Lillian May Sewell, 82, a lifelong resident of Lowell, passed away peacefully on Saturday, October 4, 2025, at D’Youville Senior Care.
Born in Lowell, she was the daughter of the late Walter and Hilda (Jeffrey) Sewell. Lillian was educated in the Lowell school system and was a proud graduate of Lowell High School.
She was a devoted member of the Salvation Army Corps in Lowell where she was involved in youth activities and enjoyed playing in the corps band. Lillian was deeply involved with the organization and spent many years volunteering her time with the Salvation Army, where she found purpose and community. She especially enjoyed spending summers at Old Orchard Beach in Maine, traveling, and relaxing with a good puzzle.
Lillian’s joy was living life with her mom to whom she was devoted and planning many trips with her. She was a devoted daughter who lovingly cared for her mom, Hilda, until the end of her life.
Lillian is survived by many loving cousins and her dearest friend, Pearl Asperschlager of Maine. She was predeceased by her sister, Daisy Sewell.
FUNERAL NOTICE
Lillian May Sewell of Lowell passed away October 4, 2025. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday, October 8, 2025, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Salvation Army Chapel, 150 Appleton Street, Lowell, MA. Her funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the chapel. Burial will take place in Edson Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her name to The Salvation Army.
