James (Jimmy) Gill, of Delray Beach, Florida, formerly of Lowell, passed away in Florida on September 28, 2025, age 93. He was the beloved husband of the late Evelyn Gill, and the loving and devoted father to Elyce & Fred Perlstadt, Donna Weinberg & Stephen Mini, and Lorri Gill & Aaron Gilman. James was the adoring and proud Zayde of Stacie & Phil Galvin, Reid & Cassandra Perlstadt, Ross & Jess Weinberg, Kendall & Torey Nicholson, Samantha Weinberg, and Devin & Kevin Ray. He also leaves his great-grandchildren Sophie, Cole, Bailey, Alexa, Emma, Jocelyn, Bodhi, James, Shepard, Dylan and Lockhart who gave him immense joy.
He passed peacefully surrounded by his children, grandchildren, and his loving companion of 8 years, Judy Selig.
He was a record setting captain of the Methuen High School track team, 1949. He was a Veteran of the US Army, rising to the rank of Sargeant and served in the Korean War. He owned and operated Barney’s Delicatessen from 1959 to 1979. He also owned and operated James S. Gill Realty, Company until his retirement.

Please omit flowers. Memorial donations in his name to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Memorial visitation will be held at the home of Donna Weinberg & Stephen Mini, in Salem, NH following the interment on Friday from 2PM to 7PM.

Jimmy and Evie will always be a very special part of my life! The many occasions I was blessed to be part of the family with the girls and them will remain in my heart forever! May Jimmy always be a blessed memory to all who knew and loved him! Rest in peace and bring special hugs to Evie!!
