Obituary

Debora Ann Potter, 66, of Lowell, passed away on Monday, July 28, 2025, at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by the love of her family.

She was the devoted wife of Arthur Potter, with whom she would have celebrated 40 years of marriage this November 2nd.

Born in Lowell, MA, Debora was the daughter of the late Wesley and Sandra (Vignola) Philbrick. She graduated from Lowell High School and later earned her nursing degree, dedicating her life to helping others. Debora worked as a nurse in a variety of settings. From hospitals to nursing homes, but found her true calling as a longtime school nurse at Lowell Community Charter School.

A woman of many talents, Debora was also a licensed auctioneer and ran her own auction house. She found joy in shopping, frequenting flea markets, and gifting her treasures to those around her.

Debora was the ultimate caregiver. Her greatest pride was her role as a mother not just to her own children, but to generations of kids who found safety, love, and acceptance in her home. Her house was always open, always warm, always safe. She stood firmly for what was right, yet was endlessly forgiving, hopeful, and fiercely loving.

In addition to her husband Arthur, Debora leaves behind her children: A.J. Potter, Joshua Philbrick, Tyler Potter, Christy Demers; her brother, Wesley Philbrick Jr.; her sister and brother-in-law, Rose and Tony Stoia; her brother-in-law William Angove; her dear friends, Ms. Fiona Power, and Charles and Patricia Federico; many loving nieces and nephews; and her beloved rescue dog, Rosie. She was predeceased by her sister Laura Angove and her brother Robert “Robbie” Philbrick.
