She was born on January 16, 1963, in Brooklyn, New York City, NY, the daughter of Luis B. Calex and Hildal Cruz (Pimentel). She was the beloved wife of Ricardo A. Lopez, and they would have celebrated their 34th wedding anniversary this coming September.
Doris graduated from Ramon Power High School in Santurce, Puerto Rico, with the Class of 1980, and later earned a college certificate in electronics and later pharmacy tech. She retired from Scully Signal Company in Wilmington.
She had a love for music and enjoyed playing Latin percussion instruments especially the congas. She also enjoyed arts and crafts and traveling, but most importantly, she cherished the time she spent with her children and grandchildren.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her three sons, Ricardo L. Lopez of El Paso, TX, Carlos M. Lopez of Lowell, and Andres Lopez of Lowell; her two sisters, Hildaliz Calex of Lowell and Isabela Calex of Puerto Rico; and her seven grandchildren, Rachel Lopez, Benjamin Lopez, Gianna Lee Lopez, Anthony Lopez, Julianna Lopez, Isla Lopez, and Nube Lopez. She was the sister of the late Luis Calex.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, April 19, from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home. A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, April 21, at 10:00 AM at the funeral home, 122 Princeton Blvd., Lowell, MA.
