Charles Michael Considine, 86, passed away on Sunday, August 23, at Lowell General Hospital.
He was born on May 21, 1940, in Lowell, a son of the late Charles A. Considine and Harriett (Mahoney) Considine. Charles was a longtime member of St. Andrew’s Church in North Billerica. He attended Keith Academy and graduated from Billerica High School with the Class of 1959.
Charles proudly served on active duty with the United States Air Force. He went on to enjoy a long career with Massachusetts Electric, now National Grid, where he worked as a Lineman for 23 years before becoming an overhead supervisor, a position he held for 17 years.
Charles enjoyed many activities throughout his life. He loved playing golf, especially golfing in New Hampshire, and looked forward to spending summers at Hampton Beach. He also enjoyed softball and was active in a local recreational softball league. He coached Highland Little League and was a past president Callery Park Little League and treasurer of the Lowell Noreaster Football Team, which won a championship during his time with the organization.
Charles was the beloved husband of the late Diane L. (Rogers) Considine and the father of the late Timothy J. Considine.
He is survived by his son, Kevin M. Considine and wife Rika Tokeshi of Tampa, FL; his sister, Jane Gurich; his grandchildren, Ryan Considine and Richard DeAngelo; and his nephews, Ian Kannaly and Phillip Kannaly. He was also the brother-in-law of the late John Gurich. He also leaves behind his good friend Gloria Morris.
Charles will be remembered for his dedication to his family, his many years of service to his community, and his love of sports, golf, and summers at Hampton Beach.
