Alisa B. Himelfarb, 68, of Westford, died on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Lahey Hospital in Burlington.
Alisa was the beloved wife of the late Mark Himelfarb. Together they shared 26 loving years of marriage before Mark’s passing in August 2016.
Born in West Hartford, Connecticut, Alisa was the daughter of the late Samuel and Nancy (Roth) Berman. She graduated from the University of Connecticut with a bachelor’s degree in Nutrition and continued her education at Long Island University, where she earned her degree in Dietetics and became a Registered Dietitian.
Alisa dedicated her career to helping others through compassionate care. She retired from Lowell General Hospital in 2020, taking great pride not only in her strong work ethic but also in the meaningful difference she made in the lives of her patients.
In her younger years, Alisa was an active member of Temple Beth El in Lowell and later Shir Hadash in Westford. She enjoyed solving Sudoku puzzles, watching true crime documentaries, reading, and spending time with family and friends. Her warm personality and infectious spirit lit up every room she entered. Above all, the greatest joy in her life was her family, especially her children. She also held a special place in her heart for her beloved childhood dog, Hazel.
Alisa is survived by her loving daughter, Shayna Himelfarb of Westford, her son, Daniel Himelfarb of Westford; her brother, Steven Berman of Connecticut; her sister-in-law, Susan Murphy, her husband, Frank Murphy, and their children, Robin and Frank, all of New Jersey
She will be remembered for her kindness, compassion, humor, unwavering dedication to others, and the love she shared so freely with everyone fortunate enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family, friends, colleagues, and all those whose lives she touched.
