Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother

Alice A. (Connolly) Winn RN, a lifelong resident of Westford, died unexpectedly on December 31, 2018, in Chelmsford, at the age of 85. She was the beloved wife of the late Maurice J. "Deac" Winn, with whom she shared 33 years of marriage.

Born in Westford, October 27, 1933, the daughter of the late John and Laura (McCarthy) Connolly. She received her early education in the Westford school system and graduated from Westford Academy with the Class of 1951. Alice furthered her education at the former St. Joseph's Nursing School, earning a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.

Alice began her vocation as a Registered Nurse at the former St. Joseph's Hospital, where she remained for the better part of her career. Before retiring in 1991, she also worked at the Glenwood and Heritage Nursing Homes in Lowell.

She was a devout communicant of St. Catherine of Alexandria Church of Westford.

Alice was an ardent fan of all Boston sports teams, and spent most Sunday’s watching football and tracking her wins. She was also an avid reader. During the week, she enjoyed going to All Care Adult Day Health Center at North Village and chatting with her many friends there. She enjoyed taking rides to the beach, and eating one of her favorites, a lobster roll. In her younger days, Allie loved to dance with Maurice and spend time with him at their favorite vacation spot in Farmington, Maine. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, playing games, and sharing her many fabulous stories. She was well liked by everyone who knew her.

She is survived by four children, Maura J. Hudson of Westford, Frances A. Townsend and her husband David of Lowell, Kevin M. Winn and his fiancée Valerie Dion of Lowell, and John E. Winn and his wife Darlene of Westford. She is also survived by nine grandchildren, Kelly Hudson Partridge, Shannon Townsend, Billy Winn, Kevin Winn, Jennifer Townsend, Shealiegh Winn Dion, Ryan Winn Dion, Tyler Winn, and Julieanna Winn Dion, as well as four great-grandchildren, Hunter Martell, Sean Partridge, Celeste Partridge, and Lacey del Llano.
