Obituary for Queenie "Queena" Boyajian

Queenie Boyajian, a lifelong resident of Lowell, died peacefully November 4, 2018, at the High Pointe House in Haverhill, following a brief illness.

Born in Lowell, MA, she was the daughter of the late Kasper and Mary (Anteblian) Boyajian. She received her early education in the Lowell school system and graduated from Lowell High School with the Class of 1947.

Queena began her career at Courier in Lowell, where she worked as a secretary. Later, she became affiliated with Lowell General Hospital as an accounts receivable specialist, until her retirement in 1995.

She was a lifelong member of Saints Vartanantz Armenian Church, first in Lowell, and later, in Chelmsford.

Always the consummate hostess, she enjoyed entertaining friends at her beautiful home. Fine dining and various cultural events also filled her busy social calendar. Queena enjoyed attending all genres of theatre and symphony, and especially loved to watch the Boston Pops Orchestra perform. A dedicated volunteer for the Merrimack Repertory Theatre, she could always be counted on to support, promote, and attend every show. In her younger days, she loved to travel the world, some of her favorite destinations being Africa, Italy, and Hawaii.

While Queena leaves no immediate family, she is survived by second and distant cousins who will sincerely feel her loss. She also leaves a dear friend, Christina Clegg of Lowell, whose granddaughter, Malia C. Leonard, held a most special place in Queena's heart. She was the sister of the late Charles Boyajian.
