Virginia M. "Virgie"  Borodawka
Loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother

Virginia M. “Virgie” (Rocha) Borodawka, 85, passed away unexpectedly on August 14, 2018, at Lowell General Hospital, surrounded by her loving family. She was the wife of the late Alexander M. Borodawka.

Born in Lowell on August 29, 1932, a daughter of the late Henry and Mary (Sousa) Rocha. She received her education at the Sacred Heart and St. Patrick schools in Lowell.

Virgie married Alexander, the love of her life, on September 12, 1954. They settled in Lowell to raise their family.

For many years, she worked as a Lab Tech for Millipore Corporation in Bedford.

While Virgie held many interests, her favorites included cooking, baking, and taking trips to Foxwoods. Most of all, she loved being surrounded by family, especially her cherished grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She never judged a soul and only saw the good in those around her. Virginia loved everyone she met, and everyone loved her.

She is survived by five children, Karen A. Borodawka, Michael A. Borodawka, Carl Borodawka, all of Lowell, Stephenie Klesaris and her husband Christopher of Dracut, and Steven A. Borodawka and his partner Bryan C. Michael of Leominster. Eleven grandchildren, Michelle Borodawka, Michael R. Borodawka and his wife Mary, Melanie A. Pereira and her husband Ryan, Andrew C. Borodawka, Stephenie A. Sarault, Ali J. Sarault, Mikey G. Sarault, Natalie J. Klesaris, Samantha A. Klesaris, Benjamin K. Borodawka, Lukus K. Borodawka; three great-grandchildren, Tristan, Morgan, and Owen Borodawka. A sister, Elizabeth Machado, and a brother, Anthony Rocha. Several nieces and nephews, a son-in-law, Mickey H. Sarault of Dracut, and many dear friends. She was the mother of the late Valerie J. Sarault, grandmother of the late Nathan Chheng, and sister of the late, Florence Mello, Beatrice Kane, Arthur Rocha, Henry Rocha, Louis Rocha, and Frank Rocha.

BORODAWKA -- In Lowell, August 14, 2018. Virginia M. (Rocha) Borodawka, of Lowell, aged 83 years. Beloved wife of the late Alexander M. Borodawka. It being her wish, there are no calling hours. Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at the Holy Family Parish – St. Marie Church, corner of Grafton and Chamberlain Sts., Lowell, on Monday at 10 AM. (Please meet at Church). Interment is private.
