William B. "Bill"  Roberts
Loving husband, father, and grandfather

William B. “Bill” Roberts, age 73, a longtime resident of Andover, passed away on Wednesday, May 23, 2018, at St. Andre' Health Care in Biddeford, Maine.

Born in Lowell, June 24, 1944, he was the son of the late William E. and Florence (Crowell) Roberts.

Bill was a graduate of Lowell High School with the Class of 1962, and attended Lowell Technological Institute (UMass) evening division. He was a longtime Digital Equipment Corporation employee, and retired from Hewlett Packard.

When his daughters were young, he coached girl’s basketball for St. Augustine School and girl’s summer softball for the Town of Andover.

During retirement, Bill was employed by Lowe's and especially enjoyed working with the children during Saturday morning craft projects. He also enjoyed wood working, and was learning wood carving at The Center at Punchard prior to moving to Wells, ME in 2017.

Bill was a 50 year member and Past Master of Pentucket Lodge A.F. and A.M., Lowell.

He is survived by his wife, Helene E. (Riley) Roberts, and two daughters, Katie Roberts, DVM, of Biddeford, ME, and Meghan E. and her husband Derek C. Butler of Cape Neddick, ME. Two grandsons, the apples of his eyes, Jack W. Butler and Alex R. Butler, both of Cape Neddick. He is also survived by a sister, Faye W. Roberts of Lowell, several nephews, and many cousins. He was predeceased by two sisters, Caroline Roberts and Priscilla R. (Theodore) Mellen.

It being his wish, there are no calling hours. Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Service on Tuesday, May 29, 2018, at 10 AM, at Calvary Baptist Church, Hastings Street, Lowell. Burial to follow in St. Augustine Cemetery, Andover. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations in his name may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, 309 Waverley Oaks Road, Waltham, MA 02452. Arrangements are in the care of MORSE-BAYLISS Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Boulevard, Lowell. Funeral Director, Frederick W. Healy.
