Obituary for Donald "Donnie" Garthe

Donald "Donnie" Garthe
Loving Father, Grandfather, Brother

Donald Garthe, of Lowell, died July 19, 2018, from injuries sustained in a tragic accident, aged 59 years.

Born in Newport, RI, January 26, 1959, a son of the late Norman and Lillian (Bulette) Garthe. He received his education in the Lowell school system.

Donnie worked for many years in the construction field as a painter and general contractor.

His interests were many, and included traveling to Florida, cooking, collecting art, and listening to all kinds of music - from classical to rock. A 'jack of all trades', he was always repairing things around the house, and enjoyed helping others with construction projects. Most of all, he cherished time with his beloved grandchildren, and treasured being with family and friends.

He is survived by a daughter, Savanna Dion and her husband Steven of Milford, NH, a son, Kyle Garthe and his fiancée Amanda McEneaney of NH, four sisters, Janice Shackleford of NH, Emillie Milinazzo, Peggy Garthe, and Pamela Ayotte and her husband Roger, all of Lowell, three brothers, David Garthe of ME, Henry Garthe and his wife Linda of Lowell, and Eric Garthe and his wife Joanne of MD, two granddaughters, Juleena Dion and Jorgia Dion, many nieces, nephews, and dear friends. He was the brother of the late Richard Garthe.

It being his wish, funeral services were private. Arrangements entrusted to Morse-Bayliss Funeral Home, Lowell. Funeral Director, Frederick W. Healy.
