Obituary for Joan LeBlanc (Loiselle)

Joan LeBlanc (Loiselle)
Loving sister, aunt, and friend

Joan I. (Loiselle) LeBlanc, of Lowell, passed away on January 25, 2018, at Lowell General Hospital, aged 80 years. She was the beloved wife of the late George J. LeBlanc, with whom she shared 10 years of marriage until his death in 1982.

She was born in Lowell, January 2, 1938, a daughter of the late Bernard and Blanche (Dumont) Loiselle. Joan was educated in the Lowell school system.

Born with cerebral palsy, Joan was not expected to live more than a few days. Not only did she live for eighty years, she lived a full, independent life. The doctors said she’d never walk. Not only did she walk, she roller-skated, bicycled and danced! Despite her many challenges, she worked at various manufacturing facilities in Lowell before retiring from Lowell General Hospital Saints Campus, as a cafeteria worker.

Joan was fortunate to always have many good friends, one of whom introduced her to George, who was the love of her life.

Very active until just recently, Joan enjoyed traveling, especially to Disney World, the Bahamas and Las Vegas, as well as Foxwoods (one of her favorites). She was very quick at cards and word puzzles and could remember the day and year of any event in an instant.

She is survived by a brother, Richard Loiselle and his wife Cindy of Dracut, a sister-in-law, Sheryl Loiselle of Macedon, New York, three nieces; Kimberly Loiselle of Dracut, Melanie Antonelli and her husband Michael of North Andover, and Lisa Cederberg and her husband Michael of Milford, NH. She is also survived by several great-nieces and great-nephews, Claire, Emily and Charlie Antonelli of North Andover, and Collin, Mykaela and Myia Cederberg of Milford, NH. She was predeceased by her brother, Paul Loiselle.

The family would like to acknowledge and thank her good friends Rachel and Roland Berard of Lowell, who were very kind and generous to Joan during these last years of her life.

LOISELLE - In Lowell, January 25, 2018. Joan I. (Loiselle) LeBlanc, of Lowell, aged 80 years. Beloved wife of the late George J. LeBlanc. Friends will be received at the MORSE-BAYLISS Funeral Home, 122 Princeton Boulevard, Lowell, on Sunday from 2 until 4 p.m. Her Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at St. Margaret Church, Stevens Street, Lowell, on Monday at 12:30 p.m. Interment in St. Joseph Cemetery, Chelmsford. Funeral Director, Frederick W. Healy.
