Obituary for Kenneth M. Golden

Kenneth M. Golden
Loving husband, son, brother, and uncle

Kenneth Michael "Ken" Golden, of Hampstead, New Hampshire, formerly a longtime resident of Lowell, died October 18, 2017, at Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, after a brief illness, with his loving family by his side, aged 56 years. He was the beloved husband of Darlene A. “Dee” (Adams) Golden.

Born in Boston, March 9, 1961, a son of Marilyn (Greenleaf) (Golden) Mason of Tyngsboro, and the late Thomas M. Golden Sr. He was raised in Lowell, and graduated from Greater Lowell Regional Technical High School with the Class of 1979.

After graduation, Ken became employed as a printer at DS Graphics in Lowell for several years. In 2004, he moved to Hampstead, and began working as a manager for CVS, where he met his loving wife Dee. The two became one in 2009.

He loved playing and watching sports. In his teen years, Ken trained at Ramalho’s West End Gym in Lowell and boxed in the Silver Mittens Division, competing at the Boston Garden. He enjoyed every New England season, and whether working in his yard or fishing on the Merrimack River, he was happiest when in the great outdoors. He was a lover of all animals, especially cats, and enjoyed listening to music. He had a gift for writing songs, poems and books, and authored several wonderful children's books for his nieces and nephews. Forever a kid at heart, Ken could always be found with the children at family gatherings, playing wiffle ball, street hockey, or shooting hoops. Uniquely smart with a dry sense of humor, he was known for having a big heart and a sweet spirit. Spending time with his cherished family was what he loved most.

In addition to his wife and mother, he is survived by a brother, Thomas M. Golden Jr. and his wife Debra of Biloxi, MS, and two sisters, Deborah Golden Dunlop of North Carolina, and Sherry Corcoran and husband Ronald of Tyngsboro. Also many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins, and a good friend, Dave Adams. He was the stepfather of the late Rebecca Arutunian, and brother of the late Brian John Golden.

GOLDEN - In Boston, October 18, 2017. Kenneth M. Golden, of Hampstead, NH, formerly of Lowell, aged 56 years. Beloved husband of Darlene A. (Adams) Golden. Funeral Services will be held privately.
